The Board of Education of Coast Mountains School District 82 is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Alanna Cameron to the position of Secretary Treasurer. Ms. Cameron has been serving in the position in an acting capacity for the past year.
Alanna, who was born and raised in Terrace, attended local schools and was immersed in education conversations from an early age as both her parents were teachers. She rose to the position of Director of Finance in the district after eight years of employment here before taking over as Acting Secretary Treasurer.
Her extensive experience in the district and the reputation she has developed as a respectful, highly competent team player make her a popular choice for this important leadership position. She brings a wealth of financial expertise to the role and a solid understanding of how systems work and how important it is to focus district decisions on what is best for learners.
This continuing appointment is effective November 24, 2011.
